It is a rich source of proteins and calcium, which plays an important role in strengthening and strengthening bone structure, and protecting the body from joint pain, or the so-called arthritis.

The main benefits of milk Foods that prevent arthritis

Our need for milk is not limited to childhood only, but we must commit to eating a glass of milk a day in our advanced stages of life; To protect the body from osteoporosis.

Therefore, it is recommended to include it in the diet on a daily basis; Because it gives the body more health by maintaining the health of the teeth as well, and protecting them from decay.

Studies that were conducted on a number of volunteers after they consumed milk daily showed that the incidence of diseases decreased for them.

After several studies conducted by several hospitals in the United States of America on the existence of an association between milk consumption and exacerbation of diseases.

one of these studies was applied to a number of people (888 men, 1260 women), ranging in age (45 to 79); The aim was to measure the extent of their recovery from diseases.

over a period of 4 years, as periodic examinations were conducted for them at the end of each year. It was found through the results that the women who continued to drink milk in appropriate quantities and regularly, had a lower incidence of diseases.

in contrast to the men who showed an acceptable improvement in relieving their joint pain.

These examinations were carried out under the supervision of Dr. (Ping Lu) of Boston Hospital, who stressed the importance of drinking milk regularly; Because it plays an important role in maintaining bone health.

Is it dangerous to drink milk if I have arthritis?

Arthritis is a common condition that causes pain, and evidence suggests that poor dietary decisions can worsen symptoms of this inflammation.

Degenerative arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are the two most common types of arthritis, and they share many of the same symptoms but differ in their causes.

Osteoarthritis occurs when cartilage (the tissue in joints that inhabits bones) wears down. The arthritis rheumatoid, it is the case of inflammatory attacks the immune organ tissue in the joints.

Although there is currently no cure for arthritis, diet can worsen or improve symptoms.

Certain items, such as processed meat, are known to trigger osteoarthritis , so it is best to avoid them.

Other dietary decisions have been the subject of intense debate over the years, with research often yielding conflicting results.

Drinking milk often causes differing scientific views, according to Dr. Frank Ho, MD, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston.

Dr. Hu explained to the nonprofit research foundation Arthritis Foundation, that research into the effect of milk on arthritis symptoms is inconclusive. "The picture is vague and the results are not very consistent" he said.

It is clear that a diet rich in saturated fat, which is abundant in cheese and full-fat dairy products, can increase inflammation.

Dr. Hu said other fatty acids found in dairy products are linked to health benefits such as reduced risk of diabetes.

A study published in The Journal of Nutrition found that eating dairy products increased low-grade inflammation in a small sample of German adults.

Furthermore, a study of more than 40,000 people with osteoarthritis found that those who ate more dairy products were more likely to have hip replacement surgery.

On the other hand, several studies have found that drinking milk and eating yogurt can reduce the risk of gout.

Despite conflicting information, in general, research paints a positive picture for milk-based products, the Arthritis Foundation reports.

A review of 52 clinical studies published in Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition concluded that dairy products generally have anti-inflammatory effects, with the exception of people allergic to cow's milk.

As the Health Foundation explains, milk-based products contain all kinds of nutrients and active compounds, including calcium, vitamin D, and a variety of fats and proteins, and "the proportions of these nutrients vary from food to food."

There are many different types of arthritis .

As the NHS notes, the symptoms you experience will vary depending on which type you have.

This is why it is important to get an accurate diagnosis if you have:

  • Joint pain and stiffness.
  • Inflammation in and around the joints.
  • Restriction of joint movement.
  • Warm red skin over the affected joint.
  • Muscle weakness and wasting.
